'flyout revisited' problem... am sure the problem is me!!

i almost got this nailed a month ago... but not quite. i’ve got a site i’m working on [still looks dodgy] at http://cheerytomato.com/ostest/index.php?id=2 . what i’d like to do is get the self link to be, for example, black text. it listens to me with the bg colour, only not with the text, the white overrides the black. i’ve tried removing where i have the white in my style sheet and trying it in other places, and have got it at the bottom of my style sheet in case that helped, only i’m missing something... the stylesheet is at http://cheerytomato.com/ostest/css/basic_dd.css . sorry if this is a basic question, i will get better at my styling...

The site looks like its getting there. You might want to unpublish the "base install" page (right-click on it in the tree and select unpublish). Or you could just delete it if you don’t need it any more. Be sure to set "site start" to the ID of the "home" page in tools | configuration first if you haven’t already.

It’s looking for some of the images in http://cheerytomato.com/ostest/images/

and others in http://cheerytomato.com/ostest/assets/images etc.

Not sure why but the images need to be where it’s looking. You can see where it looks for the various images by doing "view source" in your browser and searching for "img" to find them.

Whatever is given in the img src will be tacked onto the base href specified in your template.

hello there bob, you made great sense, thanks very much and i’ll delete the base install like you said. i didn’t upload the images as i’ll actually put this on a different server, was just wanting to put it somewhere so people could see that nav that i was needing help with.

not sure if this is a sensible way to do it, but i have got images in 2 separate places. the ones that are kind of to do with the site, so things like background images, are in http://cheerytomato.com/ostest/images/ [well they would be if i uploaded all of them]. and then the ones that people can use via the asset manager i’ve put in http://cheerytomato.com/ostest/assets/images. logical...? not so logical...?

Your image location scheme seems logical to me as long as you always know where to look for things.
