Editing Permissions

Hi,

I’m new to Modx and wonder if one of you Knowledgeable users can answer a question I have.

I have a customer who wants a manager to have "editor permissions" and make amendments and updates to existing documents, however the amendments are not to be shown on the site until another manager "Proof reader" checks the amendments and publishes them.

Is there a way this can be done with exisiting documents which have already been published.

I haven’t found a way to do this with 0.9.6, but I keep hearing this functionality is going to be added in 0.9.7 so for the time being I guess the answer is no unless someone else knows of a way....

Don’t roles make this possible already? Create two different roles for example, Drafter and Publisher. A Drafter can create new documents but not publish, but a Publisher has the ability to publish a document.

That would work as you mentioned.

The OP however would like versioning (i.e. the document already exists), which as AMDbuilder mentioned is currently not available...but is being worked on currently.

There are also snippets/modules/plugins currently being worked on.

0.9.7 will apparently make extending the core to incorporate such functionality a lot easier than is currently the case.
