Blog Moderation

I am considering setting-up Modx on my personal website, but I have a question first, though...

Would I have the capability through Modx to set-up blog-style pages on my website that would allow people to post threads or comments onto my site? But I would like to have the ability to moderate and approve the threads/comments before they are posted.

Does "demo content install" mean that I can control and moderate threads and comments to be posted on my site?

Both come with the demo content install option.

When you install MODx you have the option to install demo content for your site rather than have an empty shell for you to start creating pages.
Within the demo content Ditto & Jot are installed and have working examples of how to use them on real pages.

But I haven’t installed Modx yet because one of the aspects I’m looking for in a program is the ability to moderate which comments and threads are posted...

Does Ditto and Jot give me that capability?

Jot has an option that allows submitted comments to be moderated before appearing on the site. For more info on the various options, look at the Jot page on the wiki: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Jot

Thanks for your help...I had to reinstall modx with demo content...

I do need help, though...

I want to run 4 different blog pages on my site because I have 4 different categories to blog about...

I created 3 additional templates of the blog template to create a total of 4 blog pages...but I have a problem...

When I post a thread or comment to one of the blogs, it duplicates the same in the other 3 blogs pages on my site...

I can send you the link to my site if you’d like...

Can you advise me on how to fix this?

Change &folder=`2` to the parent blog id number.
