Reading over this thread, I get the idea that you want some sort of a ticket system for your web design company, right?

Is there an issue because you need to save each of the tickets? Or do you just need a textarea that holds the text for the user? I only have enough time to skim the thread ATM (busy till this Wednesday), but that’s what I got from it.

If it’s just the textarea, you should be able to have a inputHandler called "tickets" or something, and only the user (and you, via the type=`manage`) will see it.

Or are you doing something more complex, where you need individual tables for everyone?

Well the idea was put as a ticket system but it’s more like a auto creation of 2 or 3 pages that only the signed up user can see. It will be there for the user to be able to see a log of their work and if they wish to request.

The way I can vision it working is that someone signs up using webloginPE and then a folder is created in the manager with 2 to 3 documents. Everything with in this folder is only viewable to the person who signed up and obviously the manager. Each documents content isn’t important right now as I’m only planning to use jot as a blog style work log and maybe a page with a receipt or something. Dimmy managed to create a snippet and plugin that auto created a parent folder with child documents but couldn’t quite get the permissions working. Dimmy wasn’t sure how weblonginPE works with identifying the documents creator. When the redirect was on only the admin could access the pages as it was redirecting anyone else who tried accessing the page. Reason is that webloginPE wasn’t registering who created the document.

Dimmy’s auto generation of pages worked perfectly and looked like it could work but it’s trying to get webloginPE to recognise who created the pages so only their ID/Username had access to it without me having to manually sort the permission.

The problem is that webloginPE does not have a new webuserID available on time that the onWebSaveUser event is triggered, all the POST info from the submitted form is available but the newly created webuserID is not available. when using the "normal" websignup snippet that new webuserID is availible when the event is triggerd.

so the newWebuserID must be added to the array. if that is done that this plugin and snippet works with no problems.

If I have to use the default login system then how much difference will there be in the code that you already posted? Also is the default login system just as good as webloginPE?

de default has much less options there is no option for extra fields etc.
the script will need a small adjustment but than it works with the shipped websignup (I use it myself)

Ok, hopefully something can be worked out with loginPE then as the custom fields option is a huge bonus. Hopefully!

Oh, I see.

Hmm...although this is somewhat rough, wouldn’t it be possible to have WLPE create a new usergroup (based on their name or something), and set that to for the permission (and you’ll have your admin interface through type=`manager`)? Since, unless you had a script that tied their User ID w/ the page’s permissions, that would create your admin-only viewing problem.

Although, normally, WLPE sets everyone to a "default" usergroup, it shouldn’t be much trouble to pass in whatever value you want (like the username field) to it.

I don’t mind having a new usergroup created for each individual... I did actually have that in mind actually. My website is more for a college project and hopefully some day get some work through it so I don’t envisage it to be a huge number of members.

What ever can be done when a user signs up and pages are created would be great. If you think a new usergroup per signup is the way to go then I would be happy for that.
