Newbie question re:wayfinder

Hi
Can someone point me in the direction of some very basic instructions, doc or thread? on how to use Wayfinder or another menu tool

All I want to do for now is to have a no frills horizontal menu across the top of the page that dynamically links to other pages. No dropdowns, no flyouts nothing.
