I’ve been reading up on Document Groups and Manager Roles as per
http://modxcms.com/manager-roles-groups.html for a client who requires certain documents only be editable by certain manager roles.
I don’t quite 100% get the documentation. As I understand it you can create manager roles and then create user groups and then create document groups - but I still don’t understand the relationship between them very well.
Also, you can link user groups to document groups - but when your creating a page (and logged in as super admin) it gives you a choice of what group to assign the page to.
This leads to the following questions,
1) do I (as super admin) have to set up all the pages BEFORE the user can use them?
2) what prevents a lower level user from simply choosing the wrong group to assign a page to?
3) is it possible to assign a document group to a folder/container and then all its children inherit the document group automatically?
If someone can clarify these points, that’d be great
Many thanks.
