Posting all of your login information on a public forum is not a good idea. Why make it so easy for the bad guys to get access to your site?
Try "localhost" for your database host.
Thx tried that localhost as well.
Yes will change it as soon as I can get an answer that works.
I put it there so someone else can try it and see.
localhost
ftp and database username/password did not work.
The ftp user/password aren’t relevant here.
What about the database name? Take a look at manager/includes/config.inc.php and take a look at the value of $dbase.
thanks. there is no config.inc.php.. there is a config.inc.php.blank though.. shall I make a copy of it and rename?
Just rename it to config.inc.php and add the database details to it and save back to the server

Unfortunately, it’s blank (hence the name).
MODx writes the config.inc.php file during the install, but the OP isn’t getting that far.
Is the install providing a field for the DB name? IIRC, there’s a version of Evolution that had a problem with that.
