Hey all - this is my first post and just started using Modx and i gotta say how great of a cms it is! Had a question and wanted to know if a guru could help me out. I have a navigation menu that displays items in a Parent > Child > Child order example:

    1.0 Book
    -1.1 Children’s
    --1.2A Dr. Suess

    2.0 Electronics
    -2.1 Television
    --2.2A Samsung

Now I want to have a side menu that just display the Category child and child’s child. So example would be i would be surfing in the books category and I want to display all the children in this cateogory and if clicked on, expand into the child’s child category while having the original child closed.

    -1.1 Children
    -1.2A Dr. Suess
    -1.2B Clifford
    -2.1 Biography
    -2.1 Computer

This is what my wayfinder looks like and although it functions correctly, it’s displaying all the parents and i just want to focus on the child and children of the current parent category.

    [[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &outerTpl=`navsidebar_outer` &rowTpl=`navsidebar_row` &innerTpl=`navsidebar_inner` &level=`3` &excludeDocs=`16` &hideSubMenus=`TRUE`]]

    Any idea?

The wayfinder ebook was a big help for me.

      http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,34176.0.html

I printed it out and carried it with me for a week reading as I had time.

a quick search through the pdf should get you going.

      Regards,
      William

        Thank you! Figured it out:

        [!Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent]]` &outerTpl=`navsidebar_outer` &rowTpl=`navsidebar_row` &innerTpl=`navsidebar_inner` &level=`3` &excludeDocs=`16` &hideSubMenus=`TRUE`!]
