Web User "Upload Area"

My first day with modx ... please help!

I am trying to create a "user upload" area on my site, where a guest to the site can upload video clips.

There is something on the modx site about "FileCabinet" but I can’t find it anywhere, or anything about it.

The files should go into a folder I specify, and NOT be accessible to guests/webusers until an admin publishes them.

Also, I can’t get the ’upload’ to work from within the wysiwyg editor. When I ’insert image’, then go into the FCKEditor/ResourceBrowser, I seem to be at the "root" (root of what?) ... nothing is listed, I can’t create folders, I can’t upload anything. It gives me permissions warnings. The File Manager in the browser seems to work, but I have no idea where the resource browser is going!

No, it’s not impossible. The problem here is that what the user wants to implement is not trivial.

Uploading to the filesystem is straightforward and can be done with a snippet like FileUpload:

However, adding in a workflow whereby an admin has to approve the upload complicates things considerably. First, you would need to ensure that the file is uploaded to either a folder outside of the web root or to the database, so that people cannot access it immediately. Then you would need to have an administrative area where uploaded files can be reviewed and approved - this would be a module if it appears within the Manager. As far as I know there is no such module, so you would have to build it yourself. This will be hard or easy depending on how well versed you are with php.
