Is there a listing of correct permissions for all of the folders and files in a MODx Installation?

When I install, I set everything correctly and it all checks out. But sometimes I run into issues uploading to images and some of the other folders. I don’t want to be too liberal with my permissions by just setting 777 on things that may not need to be or may be unsafe to do so. It would be helpful if I could see a listing with correct permissions on all of the base files and folders.

    Thanks.

This is not something that is cut and dry and there are many different ways to achieve the "correct" permissions for a MODx installation depending on your environment and your preferences. That said, this is a great idea and we should come up with some documentation that provides some suggestions for common environments and situations, and describes the security risks/implications involved with each.

We could split them up first by PHP configuration (i.e. is it run as an Apache module and thus run as the Apache user account, or run separately as it’s own user account, and does this match the user account used by the FTP/MODx user) with subsections for platform differences. Any takers on getting this started for Evolution?
