Moving localhost MODx installs from old Mac to new Intel Mac???

Hi All,

I have been away from the MODx scene for a couple of weeks. I am retiring my Dual G5 Mac and am busy getting my brand new Intel based Mac Pro up and running. Its time consuming.

Question: is there an easy way I can copy my old MODx test sites from the old G5 Mac and then dump them into the new Mac Pro? Obviously my new Mac Pro does not having any data bases set up etc. I am using MAMP to create the localhost testing ground. I have the folders with the existing pages, images, snippets, CSS etc, but would hate to have to install MODx and build all the pages from scratch again. I know there is a way of moving sites to actual servers but I thought I would ask this Mac specific question...

Dump the SQL from the old Mac and import it databases on your new Mac. Then move the files over using something like a flash drive to the new MAMP install.

You should just be able to move the entire MAMP folder to the new machine, it’s a universal binary.

Even easier :p

Easier, sure, but I’d do a DB dump anyway just to be sure...
