I am trying to set up a series of back-end manager roles with ownership (editing access) of groups of documents. I want to create manager IDs in such a way that after I assign each manager a random password, they will have sufficient privileges to change their own passwords but not anyone else’s.
I checked ’change password’ and ’save password’ in the ’general’ area of create/edit role. I find that a manager assigned to this role has nowhere in the backend to change his password.
If I check ’edit users’ and ’save users’ in the ’user management’ area he has access to the ’security/manager users’ tab & can then edit and change his own details but also those of other users.
I suspect I must be missing something but I have read & re-read the documentation & searched the forums in vain for what (on the face of it ) ought to be straightforward to accomplish.
When you click on the name displayed in top-right corner (ie. admin | messages | help | logout ....) will give you a screen to change your password.
You raised a very good point I guess, there should be a text indicating that you can change your password from here. Please do file the feature request for this in the bug tracker.
