something to convert an existing site from Joomla to modX?
mostly forum, images, and users..
content can be rewritten!
I am considering switching ..but I won’t loose my hard work building users etc..

There is no built in forums for MODx. Which ones are you using with Joomla? What on your site needs to have user integration/login other than the forums?

currently I am using phpbb2.. am about to convert to Fireboard. I have a converter for that.
I don’t use user integration on my site apart from keeping track of users, groups, etc.

Fireboard sounds like it’s specific to Joomla so you’d be pretty much out of luck for getting that to work in MODx without considerable effort.

I would look to convert phpbb to SMF. Then you can use the MODx-SMF bridge.
