Hello everyone,
So I continue to learn about modx (v0.9.6.1) by trying various features.
The documentation mentions context menu items "create folder here" or "new folder" for the document tree in the manager.
What is the purpose of folders and have they gone away in the recent release? I cannot seem to find anyway to create a folder in the document tree.

The method has not changed. You can make any document a container by either adding a document to it using the ’add document here’ command. Or you could edit a document and select the ’container’ checkbox in the Page Settings tab.
The contextual menu should appear when you click on a document’s icon, if you click on the name you will go to the document detail page.
ahhh, I understand.
So the "create folder here" context menu item has been removed. And is replaced by "create document here" and the notion of container.
I can now create second level menu items (and their document) !
