File Manager Tab

I have an upgraded site, local at the moment. I have an issue with the manager set-up. The file manager tab in Tools > Configuration is not there. In a couple of earlier test sites, this is the fifth tab-at the very end. Was this moved?

I am trying to figure out how to configure the file manager so that there is a valid path, but can’t seem to figure out where to do that.

Thank you,! I changed it directly. I can’t understand why the tab is not visible in the configuration-- but ah well!

The file path is changed in the database- I used PHPmyAdmin to change it, and I have re-checked it....but my manager is not reading this at all. I am unable to use the file manager and the old path from my remote site (prior to the update) still shows in the error message when I go to file manager.

Does this information need to be changed somewhere else as well? I can just code in my images and files and upload them via ftp, but I am worried that there are other problems too and I want to identify them before I put the site up.

I’ve upgraded everything from an old Etomite to a 0.9.6RC3 all with no problems. This sounds more like some kind of corrupted files. I would upload the entire Manager folder again, plus the Install folder, and run the installer again.

The upgrade was from 0.9.6 to 0.9.6.1 . I just did a test - full install of a brand new site on my local machine, and the file manager is there where it should be...so perhaps my database is corrupt!

What are my options?

I did as Susan suggested and uploaded a new Manager folder, along with Install. I ran the installer, and still have a missing File Manager Tab. At this point, I am thinking that my Saturday night server meltdown did more damage than I thought.

Although I was able to salvage the files and the database, would it be wise to start with a fresh site and re-create all of my pages? I don’t want to keep working with a corrupted set of files and do not have the expertise to find them all, or fix them.

Also, is the best way to re-create the site just to put in my template and image files, then making the document tree and cutting and pasting the text from the old site to the new pages? :’(
