That said, it’s the only paper book there is right now in English (until my book comes out).
:’( Darn sounds like I just wasted 40 CAD. I decided to buy the book as somethings I understand about modx somethings I don’t. For example snippets/chunks/templates
Quote from: RyanIt [MODx] imposes absolutely zero restrictions on what you can output—there’s no forced taxonomy and no heirarchy limits. Also, you don’t need a 600 page book to figure out how to create a completely custom look for your site or have to use a modified available theme—use whatever html, css and js you please.

When you figured out the basics - that you set your xhtml
as template and then assign resources to use that template.
And wherever you use
Document-Objects
e.g. [*content*] [*pagetitle*] [*pub_date*] [*id*] in that template MODx
will go get that object for the page being requested.
Same goes for the TV’s. They can be considered extra field you want to use.
Create a chunk, name it ABC and fill it with some text, then use {{ABC}} in template or
document-object (the input fields for each resource)
level 2 now create an advanced TV by studying
