Complete Newbie needs help please.
I have an existing site using MODx running on a "lamp" server with one domain assigned. I need to add a new site also running under MODx with it’s own domain. What’s the best way to go about this? Can I have two instances of MODx on the same server?

There’s absolutely no restriction on the number of MODx sites you can host on a single server other than disk size. Just make sure you install each site on a different folder and everything will work just fine. You’ll have to configure each domain to point to its folder, but it’s the same as if you had a static site.
Other than that, for now MODx still doesn’t support multiple domains without some hacks. Look
here if you want to manage multiple sites from the same MODx install.

I’ll go with the multiple installs I think for the moment, mainly because the first site is already live and I’d be happier to leave that install alone (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it) until I’m more experienced with MODx.
