Installation Error Message

Apologies if this is the wrong section but help would be really appreciated.

Just downloaded the 0.9.6 version of Modx and started the install procedure. It was all going swimmingly when I got to the page which shows all the tests that the system does. All tests passed except for:

Checking table prefix `aph`: Failed! - Table prefix is already in use in this database!

This is followed by this error message:

Setup couldn’t install into the selected database, as it already contains tables with the prefix you specified. Please choose a new table prefix, and run Setup again.

Unfortunately, Setup cannot continue at the moment, due to the above error. Please correct the error, and try again. If you need help figuring out how to fix the problem, visit the Operation MODx Forums.

I have checked the database and it is completely empty with no tables or anything in it. I have also tried it with the default table prefix with the same response from the test.

This sounds like it might be a problem with the version of MySQL and the MySQL client library PHP is using. Can you help us help you by providing more information?

Is there any other info that I could give? What is the MySQL client library?
