2-part Content

Hi folks,

here’s the thing: I want to create a site where the content is devided into 2 parts.
First, left, the main part where the normal content is.
Second, on some pages there should be an info-box with some text which explains the current site. This box should always be the same width, but height varying with the text length. The background color should also be varying for the sites (TV?)

So, how can i solve that problem? The only thing i could think of was creating source-code of the box with the text and put that without an tinyMCI into the content field ...
