What about running ModX while Safemode is enabled. Has anybody discovered any problems (i bet), if so workarounds are appreciated. I like modx a lot but would like to have this issue solved before starting to go deeper.

As far as I know, MODx works in safe mode.
But I’ll let someone more expert at the topic to share his reviews about the subject.

There use to be some issues with safe mode (in resource browser - problems with creating of folders etc.). You can find some workarounds on this forum, though. Good luck.
