Good morning. I am fairly new to ModX and I am having a small issue. All of my secondary pages keep refreshing to the homepage even though the URL states the correct address in the address bar. I am not sure if this has something to do wiht the "site_url" or a rewrite setting. Any ideas or direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Sounds like you are getting ’page not found’ for those - the 404 page is by default set to your home page.

You’ll need to set up friendly urls correctly. Start by going through this tutorial and make sure your ht.access file is renamed to .htaccess.

FURLs are working fine. I tested before I began to build out some pages. Once I added the base site_url piece, this started. It works fine in FireFox. However it fails (hence my initial post) in IE, Chrome and Safari.

Do you have the automatic setting of the alias field on?

If you create a new page and the alias is not filled, it will
have the resource id URL and it will go to the home page...
          just thinking here.

It sure is strange if all works fine in FF and not at all in
          the rest... a cache issue?

All the FURL setting are correct. I’ve tried clearing the site cache too. I am stumped. I do find it very odd the it only works in FF. I wish I could post the URL but it is an internal dev server.

Are you logged into the manager with Firefox? If so, and the pages are not published, that would ’splain a lot.

Good catch. My IT team just did a fresh install for me late last week and the "default- Publish" was not turned back on. Two days wasted on "assuming" it was.

Thank you for that! Now I can go back work!
