    hi

hosting ran out of space and cache files are corrupted, how to restore ?

The mananger and the front end are blank screens,

copied corrupted cache files away and made 2 zero length 777 permission files sitepublishing.idx.php and sitecache.idx.php.

manager runs up but its not a superadmin just a publisher account so I cannot clear cache from the manager.

    front end errors

    Too many forwards !

just fixing this for a friend looked straigh forward to start with but now not so.

    help and ideas welcome

If you’re using MODX Revolution, just delete all the files in the core/cache directory.

All that clearing the cache from the Manager’s clear cache does is remove the individual page cache files. Having an empty siteCache.idx.php and sitePublishing.idx.php file should do the job for replacing the system cache files.

A seriously corrupted system may require repairing the database as well, since the database is really just a set of files used by the database engine. Also, uploading the /install/ directory and running the installer in upgrade mode might be helpful.

It’s really difficult to do anything serious without being able to access the Manager as an administrator, though.
