404 When I try to access PHP Directly

I am trying to access a PHP API and example that I placed on my MODx Revolution site. When I go to Mydomain.com/thepage.php I get a 404 error.

Is there to browse the page directly without having to create a SNIPPET and do require_once(’thpage.php’)?

If the php file exists on the file system, it should be served without any interference from MODX. You’ll have to provide more detail.
