I have a client request to integrate Gallery with the resource editor page, first tab, where you edit the template, title, etc. There needs to be two options:
1. Upload Item - Works just like in Gallery, that will upload an image to a specific album that I’ll be specifying in the code.
2. Insert Image - Brings up a window showing all of the images in the above specified album and allowing the user to pick one. The selected image will be associated with the resource.
I don’t care if it’s a TV, or a plug-in, or a new button on TinyMCE. When I first started researching this last night I was stunned at how customizable the manager interface is. (Good job, everyone!)
For the upload part, I’ve written a plug-in that inserts a custom button, but so far haven’t had luck reverse-engineering the Gallery page to make it work. (I can do anything with php, but so far the Javascript page rendering is making my brain hurt.
For the actual selection, maybe simplifying the GalleryItem TV is the way to go? Combining the two would be ideal - having the upload button on the selection page, so the user could upload the image if it wasn’t already there.
I decided before I wasted any more time on this, I’d come to the experts here and see if anyone has done this or anything like it or at the very least has any guidance on the best/easiest way to do this.
