    Hi there,

Been using MODx for a long while, never encountered this issue before.

Got a site in Revo 2.1.2. For some strange reason, when you go to the site via the domain i.e. ’www.mydomain.co.uk’, it just returns a blank screen. When I go to www.mydomain.co.uk/home, it works fine, and all the other pages are working too.

I’ve checked the error log in MODx, and I get the following:

[2011-08-04 11:37:35] (ERROR @ /connectors/resource/index.php) Resource URI already exists for resource id = 39; skipping duplicate resource URI for resource id = 25

I’ve googled this problem, and seen various replies, but nothing the same as my issue.

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom they’re able to share?

    Thanks in advance

That error comes from the cacheManager class while generating the resourceMap.

I would suspect a problem with the rewrite rules in .htaccess or (less likely) a problem in index.php, possibly due to a hacking attempt.

OpenGeek can probably give you a more specific suggestion.

        Hi Bob,

        Thanks for trying to help.

My .htaccess file is as follows:

        AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
        AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

        # Friendly URLs Part
        RewriteEngine On
        RewriteBase /
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
        # Force all pages to go to www.domain.com for SEO
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.mydomainname\.com [NC]
        RewriteRule (.*) http://www.mydomainname.com/$1 [R=301,L]
        # Friendly URLs
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]
        # Additional Settings Follow
        ExpiresActive On
        ExpiresByType image/gif A2592000
        ExpiresByType image/jpeg A2592000
        ExpiresByType image/png A2592000
        BrowserMatch "MSIE" brokenvary=1
        BrowserMatch "Mozilla/4.[0-9]{2}" brokenvary=1
        BrowserMatch "Opera" !brokenvary
        SetEnvIf brokenvary 1 force-no-vary

The first bit is purely for 1&1, because they’re a rubbish host.

The rest is pretty standard I think? As far as I’m aware, I use the same for most of my other MODx projects.

        huh

I don’t see anything wrong (assuming that it doesn’t really say "mydomain.com"). wink

Did this just start, or has it been a problem from the beginning?

It can’t hurt to try deleting all the files in the core/cache directory, and if that doesn’t help, re-running Setup in upgrade mode. If it won’t let you check the Upgrade box, don’t proceed with Setup.

Its not supposed to be set to mydomainname?! rolleyes

The weird thing is, its not been happening consistently. It has happened a few times before and completely puzzled me, but when I logged into the Manager, made a change or two, it seemed to correct itself. However, this time, that doesn’t work, and when you navigate to the home domain (without going to the actually home path i.e. mydomain.co.uk/home) it still shows a blank screen.

Upgrading always scares the crap out of me, so I’ll try sorting the cache out first (although I did try clearing the cache from manager).

Thanks again Bob. I’m waiting for Jason to pop in anytime now *crosses fingers*

Don’t be afraid of the Upgrade Setup. I’ve done it a zillion times and never had a problem. It won’t touch existing site content. If you’re upgrading from the same version (which you would be), all it really does, mostly, is set the appropriate paths -- which might help you.

When you say ’upgrading from the same version’, do you mean Revo to Revo, or 2.1.2 to 2.1.2, because I guess if I was upgrading, I’d be upgrading to 2.1.3?

Although I’m sure I have a spare zip file of 2.1.2 somewhere!

No, I mean just restoring the Setup directory you used to install the site and running Setup.

Another thing to try is disabling the snippets by putting a space between the opening [[ tokens. The snippet tag will be output and the snippet won’t execute. That will eliminate the snippets as culprits. Also, disable any plugins on the site. Actually, a likely culprit would be an SEO plugin or any other plugin that messes with the URLs in any way.

Comparing the index.php file in the root with the one in your .zip file would also be something to try.

Thanks for that Bob. I think I might try a couple of the snippets to see if they are causing problems.

I’m not using any SEO plugins/snippets. The only thing that is messing with URLs is the .htaccess for Friendly URLs.

I suppose if I can’t sort this out, I could just re-direct that URL to mydomain.co.uk/home, which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. But I promise to run 2.1.2 setup again (upgrade) before I stoop to that.

                    Thanks Bob

Sounds like your uri field did not get populated on upgrade. Turn friendly_urls off and back on. If when you clear the cache at this point you still see the errors regarding "Resource URI already exists for resource id = 39; skipping duplicate resource URI for resource id = 25" then the problem still exists and you likely need to fix one or more of the aliases defined on your Resources. Especially check your site_start Resource to make sure it has an alias, especially if you have child Resources below it.
