so im messing with that nifty pkblog and I am trying to figure out now if it is infact friendly urls giving me issues it seems the only links working now are the ones I directly create via weblinks, however a preview from the manager shows it there.
I enabled them I also edited ht.access to .htaccess added the following, the url is http://www.angrygaming.org

    # For full documentation and other suggested options, please see

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /agx

    # Fix Apache internal dummy connections from breaking [(site_url)] cache
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^.*internal\ dummy\ connection.*$ [NC]
    RewriteRule .* - [F,L]

    # Rewrite domain.com -> www.angrygaming.org -- used with SEO Strict URLs plugin
    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
    #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.angrygaming\.org [NC]
    #RewriteRule (.*) http://www.angrygaming.org/$1 [R=301,L]

    # Exclude /assets and /manager directories from rewrite rules
    RewriteRule ^(manager|assets) - [L]

    # For Friendly URLs
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

    # Reduce server overhead by enabling output compression if supported.
    #php_flag zlib.output_compression On
    #php_value zlib.output_compression_level 5

I don’t even see how MODx is involved in the content being returned at the URL you provided. Many of the links have index.php?page=%20 in them and that certainly is not a link generated by MODx. You’ll need to provide more information about what you are doing.

I was in the process of making SEO friendly url’s as well as enabling friendly urls for pkBlog
for my prefix I made the rule index.php?page= etc
suffix I left blank, aliases was just disabled at the time because i was just trying to get some kind of reaction from the links. Aliases are now enabled, however the links were generated by modx it was just basing it off my rule.

Really I want is some decent documentation on setting up friendly urls, I have found post that only required you enable it under configuration and then rename the /manager ht.access file to .htaccess I have found documentation that suggested the incorporation of the code stated in original post to .htaccess. So if anyone knows a good link for friendly URLs that would be great.

Wherever you found that idea, ignore it. You won’t need to use a prefix; leave it blank.

Listen to the first post you mentioned; that is all there is to it. You only need to enable friendly_urls and friendly_alias_urls and rename the root ht.access to .htaccess. Where did you find this second documentation example you mention?

the info was retrieved from http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Friendly_URLs_Guide

I copied back my original .htacess i had backed up before changes made, I enabled friendly urls I removed the rule I created for prefix cleared the cache and still my about_us link, reviews links will not work only my weblinks that point to things outside of modx site ie forums, stats, bans.

I thought I had figured out why my Furls were not working which was the lack of <base href="[(site_url)]"></base> in my header
however this did not resolve the issue sad

That is definitely mis-information; feel free to edit this as this is user-contributed documentation.

Without seeing what links are being generated or how, it’s going to be very difficult to diagnose this further. Please provide what links are being generated and what is generating them, or describe how it’s "not working".
