    Got a strange problem.

a test statement "@EVAL return ’1’;" appears verbatim in the default value field when a document is opened in the manager. i would expect "1" to be there.

however adding "@EVAL return ’1==1’;" to the Input Option Values field and changing the widget to list box works and the tv values get filled.

Does this mean that @EVAL in the "Default Value" field does not get executed in the Manager? or is this a bug?

      Answering my own question.
Yes, @EVAL in the default value field does not execute in the manager but only when the page is parsed on the front end.
Guess i’ve misunderstood the purpose of the "Default Values" field. I thought it was for the site editors to show the default value of the field when the document was being edited in the manager.

          thanks sharkbait

those screencasts were clear and explanatory, and the custom tvs are just cool. somehow i missed this new addition in 1.0.5.

i strongly recommend to everybody who ever felt constrained by the out of the box tvs to see the video above and a few others they have on the site. It’s a very powerful feature.
