Hi all,
I want to make something like a developer bar on the front-end. With this bar you must be able to update, duplicate, remove (and more) the current viewing resource. But only when you have the rights. Now I found $modx->user->isAuthenticated(’mgr’); to check if a user is logged in anyway but how can I check if the user may edit the resource?
I couldn’t find this in the rtfm but maybe I’m not searching good enough
Thanks! Bert
$modx->hasPermission() might be what you want.
You might take a look at the NewsPublisher package. It provides an "Edit" button for resources in the front end. Adding other buttons like the ones you’re suggesting is on the roadmap but I’m not sure when they will be available. Markus Schlegel has done some work on this, but I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet.

Agreed, it’s a conversion of an old Evo snippet.
FrontPage and FormIt2Resource are other options for front-end editing.

I even can’t find NewsPublisher in the package manager, not in 2.1.2 and not in 2.0.8... also I’m not able to download it manual.. little bit sad

I found it here (it’s easy to misspell) :

There are also no kb’s found :-(
Ah, me too. I’m not sure what’s up.
Check later today. I may have to upload a new version.
