    Hi,

My question is can MODx or a plug into Modx be used for a client to update a slide show (When I say slideshow I mean: like a flash banner of images - one image fades out another fades in - that effect). My client would like to be able to update these himself.

I know MODx has a gallery plug in - is there something similar I can use so the client can upload their own images and create a slideshow banner?

    Thanks for your help! smiley

Why not give them limited access to manager. Where all they can get to is gallery.

        Hi

The client will have full access to the MODX CMS ie to add new pages, edit text and add images to pages.

The question is how do I create a slide show banner that the client can update the images within as well. I can create one for him that I can update for him using javascript - but he wants to be able to update this bit as well.... and I don’t know how to create a slideshow banner with MODx (or Jquiery) that the client can populate with images themselves? Is this something you can do in MODX?

Thanks - hope this makes sense?

I think the gallery plugin with an adapted (Galerific) template should be able to do this. I have only used the standard template that comes with the plugin, so couldn’t say how to adapt the template to make it work, but looking at the files I really think this is doable.

Then all the client does is uses the gallery backend/mgr part of the plugin to upload and delete images.

I’m off to have a play with this, I’ll post back if I get anywhere.

Sounds like NivoGallery is for you.

Get it here or via package manager in MODx

            http://modx.com/extras/package/nivogallery

I will be uploading an updated version sometime next week with some bug fixes and new features.

            I hope you like it.

You may also want to try Slideshow Manager: http://modx.com/extras/package/slideshowmanager.
