I’m trying to create a new Manager User with Editor-level access on a site and nothing is happening when I hit save. The Save button is functioning normally on resources and Web Users, but seems to be a dead button on Manager Users, even editing an existing user and saving results in nothing happening.

The only error output I get is (from Firefox):
    document.userform.save is undefined

I’ve replaced all of the Manager files and folders with the same result.

    Any ideas?

    SOLUTION (7/7/11 @ 8:43 ET)

    • Backed up data pertinent to content, tvs, snippets, etc
    • Backed up directories and files custom to this project.
    • Deleted everything.
    • Downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Evo 1.0.5
    • Successfully created new Manager User
    • Updated DB with saved content
    • Re-uploaded custom directories and files

I’m frustrated that I still have no idea what was causing the problem, but it’s no longer a problem. Thanks for the help.

I did that yesterday. Creating a new role went normally. However I can’t apply the new role to the existing Manager User as Saving M. User settings is what isn’t working.

Is it possible to make a new user and apply the role on that user?
u can delete the broken one and enter the same name and password.

Else maybe update modx (same version) because this is not a normal thing.
          Backup and copy config file.

It is not possible to create a new user. That is exactly what’s failing. The Save button attached to the Manager User form is where the javascript error I mentioned occurs. "Save" is essentially a dead button on this page.

Right now, I am backing up the db, my site template and any custom snippets, plugins, etc that I’ve installed. I am going to delete the entire site and start over again with a fresh install.

Definitely sounds like a corrupted file somewhere; most likely a javascript file, since the javascript function is not available on that page.

it should work after your new install, good luck!

// you probably moved your website from hosting a to b befor that problem came? then a ftp corrupt transfer would be possible.
// i have had some weird things too a while ago, after resaving a user it was fixed, that user wasn’t able to see all images again in the image library befor the resave.
