Hi,
I am new using modx revolution.
I want to create a simple horizontal menu, but I am quite stuck.
I looked at wayfinder, but it was confussing.
I am quite excellent with css/jquery, etc, so I know how to build one.
I need to create a horizontal menu in each page in my website. When specific page is open, need to highlight specific menu title. (again, doing this in css is not a problem) I started using chunks and snippets, just don’t understand how menu comes into the picture.
Anyone can give me a step by step where to place my code?
Thanks,
Meytal
Wayfinder is the normal tool for creating menu’s.
In its simplest form it creates <li> links to you pages.
This can be changed with various tpl’s to meet your requirements.
My suggestion is to first include this snippet on your page check the outputted html (view page source) and style as required.
There is a very comprehensive pdf available on the forums if you need further advice(evo type syntax need to use new REVO syntax)
Just google modx wayfinder and you will find all. Google is still your friend with MODX at present.
By the way welcome to MODX hope you enjoy your stay

By default Wayfinder will create a nested unordered list. There is almost unlimited flexibility in how it generates your menu. Here’s an invaluable resource, and I’ve attached my favorite Wayfinder cheatsheet.
