I have fought with trying to setup up Modx for 2 days now and it’s starting to irritate me.
I installed and setup Joomla and wordpress no prob. Modx on the other hand is being very difficult.
Here is the error i’m getting...
Fatal error: Class ’xPDO’ not found in /home/wettdkaq/public_html/modx/modx-2.1.1-pl/setup/includes/modinstall.class.php on line 730
My system info.
Mysql: 5.0.92-community-log
OS: Linux
Perl version: 5.8.8
cPanel Version 11.28.87
Modx: 2.1.1

Hello,
It sounds like your upgrade was corrupted, if you could try uploading it again and that should do the trick. Also are you using the Traditional or Advanced install and who is your hosting company?
This is a new install. I have Joomla right now, but i’ve seen a lot of work with modx and it looks better then joomla.
I’m with hostittoday.com
They stay up to date with their services. They are a great hosting company. Joomla and wordpress works perfect just getting this to setup won’t work. I can pull up the setup page and where I add my hostname and password I don’t get any other options nor does the test connections button work???

Could you try uploading the files again? Overwrite the existing files. If that doesn’t work I would be happy to take a look.
I reuploaded it as a zip file instead of extracting then uploading to make sure all the files stay as they were. For some reason it didn’t want to unzip so i submitted it to my host to get them to unzip it then I can see about the setup. I will post back soon after they unzip it for me.

If you still have the current files, it may not be unzipping due to the files already existing.
I deleted the files from the first upload off the server and still didn’t. they should have them zipped in a couple mins
They unzipped them and it looks like it’s going through now. Thank you for your help I’m trying to switch over from Joomla hopefully I will have my site switched over soon.
Ok I am where you create a username and password but it says "it will attempt to create the database" with an error

When I click install???
Finally I got the database and activated my account.
