    Hi,

I have been pointed in the direction of MODX by a collegue.

I usually use Wordpress for most of my clients CMS needs.

I basically need to set up one or two pages which can be updated by my client (to change menu items etc) I do not want to build the entire site within a framework, but rather have just the menu page accessible by my client.

    Is modx a good solution?

    Regards

This would be a walk in the park with MODx. The exact method will depend on your final objectives and the level of flexibility you need.

One idea is to have a section for the menu with each subtopic (appetizers, deserts...) with a document for each menu item and then use an aggregation snippet (aka Ditto) to pull it all together and build the menu. Another option would be to use TV (template variables = custom fields in WP) for each menu item. And there are a few other options on how to accomplish this as well, it all depends on the requirements.

      Welcome to MODx laugh

Hi thanks for your swift reply.

I going to take the plunge into modx then. My PHP knowledge is terrible but from what I can gather this is not going to hamper me too much. It’s just a matter of getting my mind around the structure.. TV#s Ditto etc.
