Unable to login to manager or view site after upgrade from 2.0.8 > 2.1.1

When I attempt to log into the manager, I get this feedback:

"That account could not be located. Check the username and re-type the password to try again."

I’ve checked the username + password in the DB, attempted to reset the password several times, and no luck. I’m 100% sure that I have the username and password correct.

I’ve cleared /core/cache/, my browser cache, and my browser cookies - no luck. Attempted to reinstall several times, but these are the errors I’m getting from the install:

Your database was not properly upgraded according to the first few errors there. I would revert and retry the upgrade. Was this the traditional or advanced variant of the 2.1.1-pl download? Did you FTP the files to the server?

I actually completely restored the site and tried again before reposting. Is there a better way to revert an install?

I used the traditional 2.1.1-pl download with wget and unzipped it on the server. After I restored, I did a new wget and unzip with the same results.

Tried this another two times; the first time, the same site reverted to 2.0.8. The second time, another site, this one was 2.0.7 and I tried to upgrade it to 2.1.0. Same errors.

It appears that I’m unable to upgrade sites from 2.0.x to 2.1.x. Anyone got any ideas?

Awesome, found the problem. I guess the MySQL user didn’t have "ALTER" privileges; I’ve since granted that to all the database users and more upgrades are happening then you can shake a stick at.
