    Hi there,

Most of this is over my head, but I’ll try explaining in the hope that someone can help me!

A number of our websites on our Windows server went down yesterday. The majority of these sites use MODx Revolution, although one or two of them are on Evolution. I can load other pages on the sites, like domain.co.uk/index.html, or domain.co.uk/phpinfo.php, but none of the MODx pages.

I’ve been speaking to our server support this morning, and they have told me that the index.php page on these sites are setup to give a custom 500 error when something goes wrong, and not a proper error that is useful? I’ve no idea about these sorts of things, and was hoping someone could help me out?

I can (try to!) give more info if anybody wants to help.

    Thanks

At the moment, you can edit the core/errors/fatal.include.php file to customize the error message that displays when MODX cannot serve the error_page Resource. Be aware, this will get overwritten on upgrades, so save your customizations in another location as well.
