ok went from 2.0.8 to 2.1.1, I waited to make sure all the bugs were taken care of, when 2.1.1 came out, thought it was time, first symptom was couldn’t log into manager, kept failing "account not found" I had also installed 2.1.1. locally and so I created a new admin and pw then went to phpMyadmin, cut and pasted that info in the correct table of my remote installation. funny thing is that my old admin name and pw used both upper and lower case numbers, letters and symbols (i.e. ! $%) and on the new install said it was invalid, fine changed it and cut and pasted into the host database, worked, got in.
next symptom, all my image template variables paths didn’t work, I have made an extensive use of these and so I spent hours pointing them back in the right direction. The file manager path, resource path etc were all set correctly before, so I have no idea what happen since then. for example in a tv the path would be assets/files/imagefolder/image.jpg now the path is files/imagefolder/image.jpg I SHUDDER TO THINK IF ANOTHER UPDATE REVERSES THIS AND I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THESE AGAIN. Before i did manually change them, i went to system settings and changed paths etc, nothing worked, so set them back to how they were and went one by one by one throught the tvs. that’s now fixed.
now the worst friggen part, the site is a member site, and people can register, get the email, link works fine and they are logged in when they click the link in the email, but if they log out and try to log back in, the error "wrong username or password" shows up!! now members on the site can’t log in! the only thing I can do is manually change the password in the manager and then it works. I just can’t be doing this for twenty new members a day.
man, this is a nightmare, seriously it’s a member site and people can’t log in does anyone have a solution?
UPDATE: I uploaded the setup file and ran it again, nope, the only thing in error is the following:
(ERROR @ /home/siteroot/somesite.com/core/cache/includes/elements/modplugin/13.include.cache.php : 36) PHP warning: getimagesize(/home/siteroot/somesite.com/http://twitter.com/favicon.ico) [<a href='function.getimagesize'>function.getimagesize</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
I guess it’s from a pesky extra autofiximagesize (which is uninstalled) or phpthumb who knows, but that’s it, nothing to do with log in. I hate to say it, but boy I am really really upset, it is one a.m. now and have to get up at five.... please someone have a magic bullet...to put in my skull!!
