Hi there,
I used MODx a few months ago and really liked it. I’ve recently been given a new project and I am thinking of using MODx to implement it. Basically it will be a rental website where the user will be able to see which days the vehicle is available or unavailable for rent on a calendar. They will then be able to select the day and book the vehicle. Once they have booked the days the want to rent the vehicle I want them to automatically become unavailable (shaded/coloured) on the calendar.
I have spent today doing some reading and someone suggested using the EventCalendar and I understand that I would be able to show availble/unavailable dates on the calendar but I am unaware whether the calendar can be automatically updated when a user books dates?
Could someone advise me if this is possible and what would be the best add-on to use to achieve this?
Many thanks
You can also try to integrate php Booking with MODx...
http://www.phpbookingcalendar.com/ @ sourceforge... and it is FREE

Yes, in this example the owner can change avaliable/unavailable directly in the frontend, when he is logged-in. One click on a free start-date and he can choose with a datepicker free end-dates.
It is done with a newer version of xett with own cache-system for the different month-views. At the moment I’m trying to integrate this example into blox/xedit, our new frontend-editor. blox is the next version of xett for listing/editing nested arrays from tables and documents with modx- or file-chunks.
I’m working on some examples for testing at the moment here:
