I have a modx site I’m working on, that I’ve created several base templates/chunks/snippets for, and installed several great plugins on. It would be make an ideal initial install for my future clients. One that I wouldn’t have to basically reproduce all I’m doing now.
I know I can do a mySQL export for the content, but that can get a bit messy. Is there an "easy" or more straightforward way of doing this.
Anyone do it this way?
yea, that was my concern. Thanks.
I know what you mean....it will do what I need. But I’m a designer - so I’m a bit of a butcher in mySQL. Like Dexter’s inbred cousin Rufus.
I’ll get a process in place. Well worth it to learn proper SQL mods.
The truly cool way to do this is to use Revolution and create a Transport Package containing all the stuff you added to the basic install. It’s not as hard as it looks at first and the script that builds the transport package can get the stuff from files or straight out of the current install.
BTW, in any case, an upgrade install shouldn’t touch your stuff unless you hacked the core code.
