I need to create some custom DB tables and use them from MODx revo 2.1 traditional. However, the documentation on the issue is fragmented at best.
Basically, I created a schema. Now I need to generate classes and tables from it, and I couldn’t find how to create tables from it (so naturally I can’t check if classes I generated are alright). Also, what should I do if I ever want to change the model? Will I be able to make changes from the schema, or will I have to edit everything manually?
How do I know that MODx actually uses the classes I generated? Right now they are somewhere deep in the ’model’ directory, do I need to include them myself somewhere or will they work just fine? If I don’t have to, what happens if there are some duplicates from different build script runs? Is it OK that some classes are actually empty, or does it mean that I screwed up with the build script?
Ultimately, is xPDO 2.0 worth it or am I better off using DBAPI or even a framework like Catalyst and then hooking them up to MODx’s facilities with redirects?
