I was just wondering if there is a way you can show unpublished resources in search results.
I have created an events page (in Revo) that shows upcoming events and then once they have passed they get unpublished and go into a past events section. I need these events to still be searchable though, because the users will come back to the site and view past events to download presentation documents from it. Any ideas?
Or if there’s a better way of pulling past events without un-publishing or deleting them?
If you’re using Revolution, you can use getResources with &showUnpublished=`1`. In Evolution, I think Ditto has the same parameter but I’m not positive.
I have done that. The documents show up on the page I want them to, but they don’t show up in a site search.
What are you using to search?

Even if they can show up in search results, the actual resource wont be visible to the user unless you set ACLs to make them view_unpublished. Which would defeat the whole idea of unpublishing them in the first place.
Personally I would look at using a TV to set the date the event is on, and filter your events listing on that. They’ll still be published, searchable and what not but wont appear in your events listing then.
@BobRay thanks I will try there.
@Mark H. The only reason they are unpublished is to list them in the past events section, so it would not defeat the purpose of what I am trying to do. If I keep them published I cannot sort them into two lists, current and past. I have TV set with event date but I cannot find a way to filter the past events(and make them still viewable) without unpublishing or deleting them first. But by doing so they are not searchable. So I think a view_unpublished would probably work, I will just talk to the creator of the search extra in the other forum.
Thanks for the help both.
