I am dev’ing on a wamp localhost system running 2.0.8.

What I am trying to do is have the homepage getResources call to grab image TVs from four other pages. The TVs are then output as text which phpThumbOf picks up and is supposed to crop and render to 151x151 pixels. But all I get is the original image.

    getResource call:
    [[!getResources? &includeTVs=`1` &processTVs=`1` &tvPrefix=`tv.` &parents=`4` &tpl=`retrieveThumb`]]

    Chunk:
    <li><div class="imgbox"><img src="[[+tv.thmb:phpthumbof=`&w=151&h=151&zc=1`]]"/></div><h2>[[+pagetitle]]</h2></li>

    What’s wrong?

        Hello,

Could you please confirm you have gone through the troubleshooting steps listed (http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/phpThumbOf#phpThumbOf-Troubleshooting)?

        - Make sure that the "assets/components/phpthumbof/cache" directory is created and is writable by PHP
        - Make sure you have ImageMagick installed and enabled on your PHP installation
        - If your host is using symlinks for its directory structure, make sure they point to the correct, true path in core/config/config.inc.php

        Thanks

I am on a local development system using WAMP, I am also new to the more complex topics of MODX like making sure certain settings are right. I made sure the cache folder and files are writable, I am not sure what or how to see if ImageMagick is installed, and the config file has all absolute paths but the site doesn’t use symlinks anyway. Again, phpthumbof is finding and displaying the image, but not edited.

The majority of all hosting companies setup ImageMagick and configure it for use with PHP, this is MODX independent. It sounds like you may need to install/configure ImageMagick, so take a look at: http://www.phpfarmer.com/web-development/installing-imagemagick-on-windows-with-wamp/

If you still have problems please provide us more information. Saying you are using WAMP is like saying I drive a Ford. There are a TON of variables involved from what tire brand, to oil brand, to tire type, etc... Telling what version of Apache, MySQL, and PHP are a start wink

I suspect if you moved the site to a live server it would work fine, as I think this is an environment issue.
