I’ve just created a simple site using ModX. I’m very new to it, but so far so good.

This site has a section on the home page that is called recent projects. I would like to have a photo, a title and a description. It would be nice if it could be just the most recent addition to the MaxiGallery that I have installed, but I’m not sure I can call a thumbnail, title and description.

I guess I could also use ditto and create it like a news page and call in the most recent info.

I’m just not sure the best way to handle this and I’m sure someone out there would have some suggestions.

    Here is the site: http://www.charlesmanncontracting.com

Really? No one has any thoughts or suggestions?

Throwing it out again, it’s the last part of this site that I need to work out for my client to easily add new projects. I would love some suggestions.

      Thanks.

        Hi mdsdesign,

Really? No one has any thoughts or suggestions?
        it’s weeeeekend wink

Ditto would be the right tool for this...and you can call MaxiGallery within your Ditto template, see this thread:
        http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,15519.msg100228.html#msg100228
In Ditto chunk, you can use [[MaxiGallery? &gal_query_ids=`[+id+]`]] to show pictures from certain gallery. Then if you only want one thumbnail even if the gallery itself would have more, use the &limit=`1` parameter to limit it.

        hope i could help, j

Thanks. That is kind of what I was thinking, but I’m so new to Modx and I’m a designer not a programmer. So, I’m trying to figure out the best way to make things happen.

I’ll look through the post you suggested and I’ll see if that can help me do what I need.

Thanks so much for your reply!
