    I have a site, built with Revo, v 2.0.6. running on PHP Version 5.2.10.

    I’m getting some funky things happening: a few days ago, the site came up with a blank white screen. However, the control panel worked okay and I ended up clearing it up by, of all things, taking it offline momentarily and putting it back up. Then, clearing the cache with the cache button.

    Then, just a few minutes ago, the same site displayed a different set of errors on the home page...and only on the home page. When I looked at the source code, I saw this toward the bottom of the screen:

    ',
        '[[~11]]' => '11.html',
        '[[~63]]' => 'zorn.html',
        '[[~62]]' => 'tuck.html',
        '[[$?namespace=``&limit=`3`&offset=`0`&page=`1`&pageVarKey=`page`&totalVar=`total`&pageLimit=`5`&elementClass=`modSnippet`&pageNavVar=`page.nav`&pageNavTpl=`<li[[+classes]]><a[[+classes]][[+title]] href="[[+href]]">[[+pageNo]]</a></li>`&pageActiveTpl=`<li[[+activeClasses]]><a[[+activeClasses:default=` class="active"`]][[+title]] href="[[+href]]">[[+pageNo]]</a></li>`&pageFirstTpl=`<li class="control"><a[[+classes]][[+title]] href="[[+href]]">First</a></li>`&pageLastTpl=`<li class="control"><a[[+classes]][[+title]] href="[[+href]]">Last</a></li>`&pagePrevTpl=`<li class="control"><a[[+classes]][[+title]] href="[[+href]]"><<</a></li>`&pageNextTpl=`<li class="control"><a[[+classes]][[+title]] href="[[+href]]">>></a></li>`&tpl=`blogPostSideCol`&tplOdd=``&tplFirst=``&tplLast=``&sortby=`publishedon`&sortbyAlias=``&sortbyEscaped=`0`&sortdir=`DESC`&tvFilters=``&depth=`10`&parents=`10`&includeContent=`1`&includeTVs=`1`&processTVs=``&tvPrefix=`tv.`&idx=``&first=``&last=``&debug=``&tagKey=`tags`&tagKeyVar=`key`&tagRequestParam=`tag`&tagSearchType=`contains`&element=`getResources`&showHidden=`1`&hideContainers=`1`&cache=``&total=`9`&toPlaceholder=``&cache_key=`default`&cache_handler=`xPDOFileCache`&cache_expires=`0`&qs=`c659b1c371f99411372fc00d01f3d47f`&pageCount=`3`&href=`/?page=1`&pageNo=`1`]]' => '<li[[+activeClasses]]><a class="active"[[+title]] href="/?page=1">1</a></li>',

    ...and repeating that ’namespace’ type code several hundred times before displaying this:

    <br />

    <b>Fatal error</b>: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9464215 bytes) in

    <b>/home/client/domains/domain.com/public_html/core/xpdo/cache/xpdocachemanager.class.php</b> on line <b>860</b><br />

    Again, clearing the cache in the control panel cleared up the problem. I have the feeling I haven’t heard the last of this situation, though.

    Can anyone spot anything that might be happening? The code seems to be referring to the blog code I’ve implemented using the tutorial on this page:

    http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Creating+a+Blog+in+MODx+Revolution

    I’ve used that blog tutorial many times with no problems and I don’t think the problem is with the blog script (I don’t think). Maybe something to do with memory? I have several MODx Revo sites living on that server (with the same blog system) and they all seem to work okay.

    Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

      That does seem weird... First thing I would do is go through and check you haven’t left off any backticks or forgotten to close a snippet or placeholder tag somewhere in your template.

      I haven’t tried that tutorial but ’white screen’ generally means something is up with the php syntax in the snippet code. I’d check that too and make sure you haven’t left off a semicolon or something in there. Very easy to do if you’re copying off a tutorial and not testing as you go...

        Thanks for replying, lucas. I’ll try that but the script generally works reliably and only displays problems intermittently. If it was a syntax problem, is it fair to say that the problem would be happening all the time? Am I wrong?

        Again, thanks.

          No you’re not wrong, unless there is something that is being loaded dynamically at some point after the initial page load and then causing the error.

          Is it possible that some event such as a blog comment being posted could introduce a syntax error?
          Or any conditional calls in there that might end up introducing a chunk containing an error?

            The blog isn’t set up with comments. In fact, it’s being used as a ’What’s New’ type of thing in a side column...not really a standard blog. There is another such chunk (blog) feeding another batch of similar content elsewhere on the site that at first glance doesn’t seem to be causing any problems. I’ve also used this script in other sites with no problems.

            However, I found something that I’m wondering about, though. The chunk that holds part of the blog code has one line that reads:

            &cache=`0`

            Is there anyone out there who is familiar with this blog that can tell me what that is, what it does and should it be set to something other than zero?

            Keep in mind that the blog might have nothing to do with my problem at all. I only mention it because the source code seems to be repeating code that reads as if the blog might have something to do with it.
