    Hi,

    Any way of editing a page that is already live, but your edits not to go live until a certain date. So the page contiunes to display the old content to the specified date.

    I know you can set the publish date, but this seems to be only useful if it’s for a new resource or removing a old one.

    A solution for revo or evo would great.

    Many Thanks

    Ben

      U could use 3 TVS:
      Start Date
      End Date
      Alternative content

      The user sets the alternative content, and the start/end date.
      A snippet shows the content, ubt if the alternative content is set and the dates are active, show that?

      You request is a strange one.

        You could create another page with the same alias (not sure the system would allow this, you may need to use 301 redirects and a very similar name), make your edits, and have that page unpublished until a certain date, at which point the original page would auto-unpublish.

          Thanks both.

          @goonz, Yeah I thought about having 2 resoucres and unpublish one and publish the other. I’m sure the system allows the same alias as it warns you it may cause problems. But the problems should only occur if both are published.

          @jusmeig, interesting idea. The auto publish isn’t actually the requirement, but the ability to edit a live page without the changes going live. So could have to 2 content regions (A and B) and a TV check box with show region A or Show region B.

          Thanks

          Ben

            I think you answered your question here no?
            3 TVs, 2 for content and a checkbox toggle?
            Write a snippet to show content area 1 if the toggle is set, otherwise show area 2?

              Don’t even need a snippet for that tongue

              Create your second content area as a textarea TV. Let’s call it ’contentB’.

              Create a radio button type ’content selector’ tv called ’contentSelect’.
              In input option values:
              Content A==[[*content]]||Content B==[[*contentB]]

              Default it to:
              Content A==[[*content]]

              And in your template, replace [[*content]] with the [[*contentSelect]] tv.

              Then the user can switch between content using the radio button. Easy smiley

              If you wanted to incorporate the ’auto publish’ date, it would be fairly easy to write a snippet that checks the current date against the ’auto-publish’ date then switches the content if conditions are met.

                Again highlighting the many ways to do things in MODx.
                I would go with lucas’s solution, even easier to implement.
