    Hey all,
    I installed modx revolution (2.0.8-pl) but get an error at the manager url right after the completion of the installation process.

    Error message:
    Fatal error: Uncaught exception ’SmartyException’ with message ’unable to write file ’ in /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php:35 Stack trace: #0 /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(271): Smarty_Internal_Write_File::writeFile(’/home/klant0031...’, ’<?php /* Smarty...’, Object(modSmarty)) #1 /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(412): Smarty_Internal_Template->compileTemplateSource() #2 /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(554): Smarty_Internal_Template->renderTemplate() #3 /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/Smarty.class.php(335): Smarty_Internal_Template->getRenderedTemplate() #4 /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/mode in /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php on line 35

    I already checked the installion-troubleshooting and searched the forum. But no luck till now.
    Seems like a read/write error, so I already fooled around with the cmod settings,. but even 777-ing the whole folder doenst work.

    please help sad

      I would break up the error message like this

      ’SmartyException’ with message ’unable to write file ’

      in

      /home/klant00318/domains/radiologie-e-learning.nl/public_html/core/model/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php:35

      if this kind of stuff does not make some sense to you I would advise deleting the installation dropping the tables and starting again. have you asked your hosts support for help?

      I have found in the past that reinstalling or doing a fresh install can work.
