Extjs: build own console menu action

Hi all,

I have made a plugin (event: OnBeforeManagerPageInit) with a $modx->regClientStartupScript() call. I’m loading a own JS file where I want to define a console-like window (as the clear cache window). Only with own functionality. I want to call it from the top-menu action, same as the MODx.clearCache(); handler for the ’clear cache’ menu item.

Does anyone know how this works?

You should become a Solution Partner - when developing ImportX (which also re-uses the Console) I bugged the core devs a lot with my issues, and some very helpful tips were given The Console is also documented on the RTFM: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/MODx.Console but you can of course check out the ImportX source on Github: https://github.com/Mark-H/importX

You should check System > Actions & Menus and see what the value for the ClearCache item in the menu is. I guess it’s just calling the function as the action. If you define your own function in the JS you’re including, you can just copy that behavior and let your JS do the rest.

Thanks for you reply! I have tried a lot and looked at your examples and I think its gonna work either my console runs only onces, when runned my own console and then run clear cache console, my own console is broken? no error shown but a clean console screen... any idea?

When calling it, are you checking if the console already was loaded & resetting it? I found that it indeed wouldn’t work anymore when I was just declaring it again.

First i really love the console, it's a great way to show off to editors how fancy everything behind the scene is.

But i'm having one problem with it. When logging too many messages in a short period of time they get mixed up in my case.

Like i do a loop from 1-9 and this could look like 32541 etc..

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong and the only work around so far, sleep(2)

So if anyone could help me out with this that would be great.

Then one more thing, what would it take to also add a cancel button?
