    hey folks - just looking for some quickie advice here...i created a new website in Rev 2.0 and got it working using a temp URL (http://eatbetterfeelbetter.fatcow.com/scottrlooney). i then went through the procedures to make it go live to http://www.scottrlooney.com.

    website loads pics and text just fine BUT:

    first issue - Manager login is unavailable at the www.scottrlooney.com domain. i can only use the temp URL path to log in.

    second issue - Dewplayer seems unable to display. it’s definitely a file path issue with the SWF object itself. looking at the snippet code i see this line:

    $swfPath = $modx->getOption(’assets_url’).’components/dewplayer/swf/’

    what confuses me a bit is that local server images uploaded to /assets seem to work fine. but manager and dewplayer are not getting the change in path.

    so one thought that seemed obvious is to edit assets_url to point to my current filepath and everything should be fine. trouble is i’m not sure how to do this in Revolution’s Manager. i could of course change the PHP to point to the exact file path, leaving out the assets_url value, but would rather deal with things dynamically, and it doesn’t address the Manager login issue.

    maybe a site path config issue on the Fatcow Control Panel?

    any advice or wiki links vastly appreciated,

    scott

      Never mind - i feel stupid. although it didn’t seem like it, it WAS a moving/relocating ModX-type problem. a few edits to the appropriate paths in config.inc.php did the trick on all fronts and everything is hunky dory now.

        Another tip: After migrating a site, you will always have issues with paths and broken links (well usually!)
        Copy up the MODX installer and run an upgrade. This will work out the paths on the new server and update your config/db accordingly.
        This saves time picking around looking for paths and clearing the cache 100 times.

          i tried the upgrade fix described above, and after the upgrade completed, i clicked the "login" button, and it still took me to the old folder.

          question: should the "paths" in my modx config file be the absolute file paths, or my domain name?
