    Hi,
I’m have been using modx off and on and I have been researching how I would go about restoring a website. There is no clear indication of how it can be done?

    Any help would be useful
    Many thanks,
    Kayla

In simplest form, all that is required to "restore the website" would be to restore the files from your backup and restore the database from your backup. Exactly how you do that depends slightly on what tools you have available. Assuming that your backup is stored locally on your computer and you have a traditional webhost somewhere, just FTP the files from your computer back to the host and use phpmyadmin (provided by your host) to recreate the database from the .sql backup.

You could use BkupMODx which does backup and restore:

I think you need to be more specific... what do you mean "restore a website" -- do you mean that you had a working MODx site, and now it’s fallen into disrepair or you’ve changed hosts or something and you want to bring it back on-line?

Or do you mean you have some other site that you want to port to MODx?

Or do you mean something else entirely?
