Editing Createdby field from within the manager

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to edit the creadtedby field from within the manager.

Im publishing a lot of user contributions on other peoples behalf and at them moment going into the the database to edit the created by field manually.

Any guidance appreciated.

I’m not aware of a way to edit the createdby field directly (not to say it isn’t possible though).

You might be able to set up a drop down TV using @select to list possible authors. Then create a plugin that would update the ’createdby’ field if a different author has been selected via the TV. It would be a good idea to hide this TV from other users for obvious reasons.

IF you’re using Evo you could look into the fast_content_csv plugin as this can make it possible to edit certain db fields from the resource tree. A bit fiddly to set up but I’ve found it very useful.

Of course there might be an easier way to do it but that’s all I could think of for now
