    My friendly urls are showing up with extensions like this... .com/index.php?id=76 instead of the friendly urls specified, when they are indexed by yahoo site explorer. The friendly urls are working urls and either extension resolves to the page. The configuration in modx is set to use the friendly urls and the alias is entered as well for each page. Most are being indexed correctly, only a few pages are not and I am not sure why yahoo is indexing the unfriendly urls instead of the intended versions. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

      I’d wondered about this too, noticing that it’s possible to access a page by friendly url and also the index.php?id= dynamic url. I really don’t know enough about mod_rewrite to be able to help you get around that (and hoping someone might be able to smiley)

      Couple of things you might try for Yahoo! though. Log in to Site Explorer and:

      • send a link to your xml sitemap (under Feeds) to tell Yahoo! which urls you prefer to have indexed
      • indicate which urls you want removed from the index under Actions > Delete URLs

      Just curious - did you turn on Friendly urls after your site had already been indexed? Otherwise there may be a link somewhere on your site that is pointing to a dynamic url. Sort that one out and it should eventually drop out of the index.

        One more thing, if you include the following in your meta section it will indicate to the search engines where the preferred version (friendly url) of the content can be found.
        <link rel="canonical" href="[[++site_url]][[*id:isnot=`[[++site_start]]`:then=`[[~[[*id]]]]`]]" />
